This month, we have started a new feature, "Dark Confessions". Each issue, we will ask several
haunters the same question and publish all their unique answers here.
This issue's question:
"What's The SCARIEST thing about you?"
The answers may suprise you....
*****
Pogo
(Demons Of Darkness): "Well I think it would have to be the depth of my creativity when it
comes to the darker aspects of my life."
Lazarus de Legio
(Legion Of Terror): " The fact that if I didn't get to act out my loud and violent tendancies
at the house I would either be dead from killing a few, or in a rubber room for killing hundreds..."
Evan
(1031 Productions): "How quickly my temper can go from being happy to wanting to hurt someone."
Mike The Halloween Man
(The Haunting At 332): "My second personality.
The one that only comes out when its dark and the mood is right."
Doppelganger
(Legion Of Terror): "The scariest thing about me is the fact that I am not the typical "
haunted house actor". I am very impromptu. I thrive off of the ones who
are difficult, who are hard to scare, or the ones who refuse to have a
good time or be entertained. All in all I would say the scariest thing
about me is letting people try to read my mind and actions. This is the
scariest thing... because I am "the evil twin" and my thoughts are very
elusive.
Blood , gore, and viloence always works.... Being coy and mysterious
goes a long way, and mystery scares the customers...My name is
Doppelganger."
Steve Hickman
(Terror Syndicate Productions): "It would have to be my twisted artistic creativity! I
build realistic life size corpses for fun. Need I say
more..."
Mr. Maniacal (Maniacal Productions): "I think the scariest thing about me is how the character takes me over
when I'm acting. Once in character I become that character and I don't
care about things like pain...and I have the scars to prove it."
Michael Bruner
(The Monster Maze): " I would say that the fact that I'm so relatively normal. Whereas many
haunters live the life (i.e. they have Halloween decorations up year
round, they wear t-shirts that say "Haunt or Die", or they incessantly
talk only about haunting) I just approach it with the idea that it's a
great (and incredibly fun) hobby. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't
gamble, I don't do drugs, I love my wife and child, I love my job. In
fact, our family life is straight out of a Disney movie. And because of
this Norman Rockwell image that our family has, people are stunned when
they find out what I like to do with my spare time. When asked what I
did last weekend, I reply; "I made a killer corpse and a spine popping
pneumatic prop!" It's after I say something like this that people THEN
look at me with a slight tremble and fear in their eye. The fact that I
come across as otherwise so, NORMAL, and then shock them with my love
of haunting."
Merlin Calhoun
(Haunters Hangout): "I think it would have to be my imagination. I think every haunter's imagination is. We get to dream up ways to scare people.
Even the best prop builder cannot equal up to the mind of a lost soul in a dark haunt."
Knid the Vicious
(Legion Of Terror): "One of my favorite acts is a 'beastial stalker' type. I emulate an
restless animal, moving in a crouch- always moving my arms and neck...
From a distance I'll choose a target and wait till they notice me
staring...
then every time they turn away I get closer...then wait...when they
look back they see I've gotten near, but they never saw me
move...slowly patiently I move in...9 times out of 10 they freak out
before I even get close, then WHAM! I'm in their face and they're
screaming...that said, I think the scariest thing about me is my
patience...I don't mind taking the time to REALLY creep someone out.
